VPFlowScope M 1″-4″ & 2″-16″

The most advanced flow measurement

The VPFlowScope M is an advanced flowmeter for compressed air and technical gases. It can be installed under pressure and measures flow, pressure, temperature and total flow simultaneously. With the introduction of the VPFlowScope M, recalibration becomes a thing of the past.
Unlike traditional flow meters, the VPFlowScope M does not require traditional recalibration, which requires you to send the unit back. Instead, the VPFlowScope M consists of a transmitter and the patented VPSensorCartridge®, which reduces recalibration to a simple replacement.

VPFlowScope M P220

VPInstruments is excited to announce the latest addition to the VPFlowScope M family: the P220 Thermal Probe. This new model retains all the benefits of the VPFlowScope M flowmeter while featuring an optimized design that allows for use in pipes up to 1 inch, ensuring maximum accuracy and minimal pressure drop. The VPFlowScope M is a versatile 4-in-1 flowmeter designed for compressed air and technical gases. It simultaneously measures bidirectional flow, pressure, temperature and total flow. Like all VPFlowScope M models, the P220 can be installed under pressure. It is an ideal solution for both audits and permanent installations to gain insight into your system performance.

Improved design and best performance

The improved design ensures excellent performance of the VPFlowScope M P220.The latest sensor tip design ensures very low air resistance, significantly reducing pressure drop across the sensor. This improvement ensures that you can achieve accurate measurements in pipes as small as 1 inch. This optimization makes it particularly suitable for small-sized systems where minimizing pressure drop is crucial for performance.

VPFLOWSCOPE M

Four features in one flow meter:
-flow
-pressure
-temperature
-flow rate counter

-Suitable for compressed air and technical gases
-Patented VPSensorCartridge®: no more recalibration required
-Optional directional measurement, available for measurement in both directions
-Ethernet interface: Industry 4.0/IOT ready (Modbus/TCP)
-measurement signals 4…20 mA and RS485 (Modbus RTU)
-Very compact size and low weight
-installation on steel pipe P220 1"-4" P350 2"-16"
-installation with ½” male process connection, e.g. to a ball valve.

EASY INSTALLATION

- Ensure sufficient straight pipe length before and after the sensor
- Typically 10 x D (pipe diameter) before the sensor and
5 x D (pipe diameter) after sensor
- process connection 1/2" (DN15) full bore ball valve, the inner diameter of which must be at least 15.0 mm.
- Pay attention to the installation position, either on the side or at a 45 degree angle

Detailed installation instructions and operating instructions must be observed.

VP FlowScope M (VPM.R150.P35X) Flow range table

The VPFlowScope M is very flexible to use. The following table shows the minimum and maximum flow rates for various pipe diameters from 2 to 16 inches. Please note that the flow ranges apply only to compressed air and nitrogen. The ranges may vary when used with other technical gases. Please contact us for more information.

Industry 4.0 ready

Thanks to its standard built-in Ethernet interface, the VPFlowScope M connects directly to any network and seamlessly forms one of the cornerstones of a real-time energy management platform. But it is also compatible with the traditional world thanks to standard 4...20 mA signals and RS485 (Modbus RTU) interface.

The flow meter can also be easily connected to production or building automation using either a Modbus fieldbus or a 4…20 mA signal.

Features and benefits of the FlowScope M flow meter:

- VPSensorCartridge®
-High dynamic and wide measurement range
-Four sensors in one instrument: flow, pressure, temperature and total flow
-Standard RS485 (Modbus RTU), 4 … 20 mA, pulse and USB interface.
-Bidirectional, shows the flow direction in the distribution network
-Fast return on investment

Compressed air and gas flow meter applications

-Partial measurement of compressed air and industrial gases
-Technical gas flow monitoring (nitrogen, oxygen, helium, argon, carbon dioxide; all dry and non-corrosive gases)
-Leakage control
-Energy monitoring
-Cost sharing, e.g. between different units or departments
-Condition monitoring of pneumatic equipment
-multiple pressure levels: 16 bar | 250 psi and 35 bar | 500 psi solutions possible
-Ring networks (bidirectional measurements)

Compatibility

The VP FlowScope M-series is fully compatible with PVS SmartAir. PVS SmartAir is a condition monitoring system for compressed air systems, both fixed and mobile (measurement case). Be surprised and amazed by exploring more about PVS SmartAir on its own page.
